What I Wore — Sporty + Burgundy

Guys, I never thought I would be wearing tennis shoes in an outfit post. And after over a year and a half of not wearing pants, I would have never expected to love wearing joggers (like the pair in this post) and skinny jeans. The pants thing is not as big of a shock because I have had several outfit posts featuring pants recently. This is the third time this particular pair has been featured on the blog (here’s the firstsecond). They are definitely a staple in my wardrobe and I recently got another pair of joggers. Since it’s getting warmer, I thought I would gravitate back toward skirts + dresses, but I am still finding fun ways to dress up pants. Enough about pants, back to the tennis shoes. I got these last week at Famous Footwear because I needed a new pair of running shoes. I signed up for a 5K at the end of April and when I did my first run to prep for it I realized how worn out my old running shoes were. I was drawn to this pair because they were on sale and the beautiful burgundy color. When I pulled them off the shelf I noticed that the packaging and inside the shoe had “Women Run the World.” I was sold. Ryka is actually a women only sport company (read more about it here) and I think that’s pretty awesome. I also didn’t realize until I got home that my pair of worn out shoes was also by Ryka. Since I have been trying to break them in, I’ve been finding ways to dress them up, like this outfit. I love how perfectly the shoes match my scarf. I would highly recommend these shoes!

How’s your week going? Mine is going well except for the fact that I am feeling very tired. I think it has to do with going to BodyPump on Monday night. That work-out always seems to get me – I’m still feeling sore. BodyPump is all about lifting weights and you work your entire body throughout the work-out. It’s not my favorite class, but I am going to try to go more frequently to gain strength. Loving to work-out is another unexpected thing for me. I went to the gym four times last week and ran twice, which is what I am hoping to do the rest of the month (and maybe beyond?). Hopefully all this talk of working-out isn’t boring. Maybe I should create a new series on the blog for it? Let me know what you think about that!

Have a great Wednesday!
