What I Wore — Pink & Purple Flowers

We shot these photos this past weekend in Goodale Park before walking to a concert at The Basement. Chase and I saw my favorite band, Delta Rae, for the second time! We saw them a couple summers ago in Cleveland at The House of Blues (which I blogged about here). They were incredible! They played a few new songs and that made me super excited for their next album. I got a little teary-eyed during some of their songs because they are so incredibly talented. My favorite song is “Morning Comes,” which is on their first CD.  I hadn’t been to The Basement since I was in high school, so it was cool to go back. It’s a pretty small venue, but it allows for a more intimate experience during the show. Castro opened for Delta Rae, another sibling band, and they were really great! I liked “Automatic” by Castro. Also, if “Castro” sounds familiar, it’s because Jason Castro (one of the brothers) was actually on American Idol in Season Seven and came in 4th place (here’s him singing “Hallelujah“)!

Now to the outfit! I got this dress at Old Navy last week. I went in looking for jeans and came out with this dress (#storyofmylife). It was definitely a purchase of retail therapy – I think that’s okay because it was on sale at the time and it will be great for fall. I paired it with my old flower crown since it hasn’t been worn this summer and the colors matched so well. It was SO humid when we took these photos. I am looking forward to weather cooling down! I used to be more of summer person, but July & August were so hot & humid that I am looking forward to fall. I also miss the smell and crisp air of fall! I will change the decorations for the salon soon and decorating for fall is my favorite because of the smell of the decorations and it makes me feel nostalgic. The first time I decorated the shop (6 years ago!) was for fall. Who else is looking forward to the changing of the seasons?

Have a great Wednesday!
