What I Wore — Red Dress

I was debating on posting these because I am never sure if I like the outfit photos that I take myself. Although, there are a couple shots in this bunch that I really like. I think I need to practice taking photos myself more because I always feel awkward using my tripod alone. I think having a remote for my tripod would help a bunch because I wouldn’t have to run back and forth to set the timer. If anyone has any pointers on how to shoot your own photos, please let me know! I took these a couple weeks ago when it was a beautiful day and I was procrastinating my homework. The sun was actually a little too bright in some of these photos.

What do you think about this dress? It is a hand-me-down from a client at the salon – she brought in a huge bag of clothes for me a few months ago and it included a ton of professional clothes and I can’t wait to share more of what she gave me! When I first tried on the dress, I loved it! Then, when I was wearing it to take these photos I had mixed feelings. I wanted to wear it out-and-about, but I thought it was a bit too dressy for everyday wear. I think it would be perfect for a nice dinner date or night out with friends.  Also, I am wearing a new soft matte lip cream I got by NYX Cosmetics and I love it! I love how it goes on and the vanilla scent of the lip cream. I don’t think I can pull off red lipstick on a regular basis, but with this dress it works (here’s a selfie I posted on Twitter after taking these photos).

Have a great Tuesday!
