It’s been a long week. I wasn’t even sure if I would get this post done in time. The end of the semester is here and I have three presentations and my thesis proposal due next week. Man, I am looking forward to winter break. My thesis research is some tough work – definitely the most challenging part of my undergrad career. And to think that I have to do more next semester is a bit overwhelming. But anyways…here’s some noms that I have enjoyed lately!
1. Maytag Blue Cheese Potato Chips & Broccoli Cheddar Soup from Cap City Diner
These are my favorite chips! I basically crave them all the time. I am not that much of a “chip person,” but these are so delicious. Cap City is pretty close to me and it great for a casual lunch or even a night out (we went one year for Homecoming in high school). This particular visit was when Chase and I were on our way back from Roan Mountain. We needed a “treat yo self” meal and the chips had been calling my name. I ended up getting so full off the chips that I took most of the soup home for leftovers.
2. Ham & Cheese Sandwich with Mushroom Soup from Brown Bag Deli
This soup! I have also been craving this soup since I had it about a month back before our trip to Schiller Park (see here). It was a special, so I am not sure if/when it will return, but it was completely delicious. I would highly recommend Brown Bag Deli if you are in German Village.
3. Breakfast & Irish Cream Coffee from Stauf’s Coffee Roasters
Stauf’s is a pretty well-known coffee shop in Columbus. The Grandview location is within walking distance of me. One reason I like this coffee shop is that it is open late. They stay open until midnight over the weekend. It was nice to go to Stauf’s while in high school because in a small town like Grandview, there’s not a lot to do late at night. I was also pretty impressed with this breakfast! The breakfast meals that I have had in the past have been average, but this was really good! I got scrambled eggs, rosemary toast, sweet potatoes, and bacon. All the flavors blended so well together. Irish cream was the flavored coffee of the day, but my favorite flavored coffee from Stauf’s is probably Highlander Grog or Snickerdoodle. There’s also a Stauf’s in German Village!
4. French Toast & Breakfast Quesadilla from Sunny Street Cafe
Sunny Street is one of my favorite breakfast places in Columbus! I go to the location in the Arena District. I usually go for something sweet when I visit Sunny Street, but I switched it up this time. Chase and I went for his birthday and decided to each get a savory and share a sweet plate. It was a ton of food…and we devoured it! They also have pretty amazing coffee!
Hope you enjoyed this week’s Foodie Friday! Have a great weekend! 🙂
