Defining Life Project

Defining Life Project: Definitions #86-90

I think life is all about pursuing the things that make you happy. If you’re doing something you don’t love, or don’t want to do, that seems like a waste of your life on Earth.   RMD

Life is to know God and his son, Jesus. To love him, trust him, and serve him in this life and to enjoy his glory in the next life.   KJM

Life is a constant struggle for love. We want to find someone to love and someone to love us.  We try to repair love that has been broken, and get back love that has been lost. Even when we think that we have all the love we can get and therefore our life is fulfilled, someone else realizes they don’t want or love so our life goes on finding someone else to put in their place.   TJM

Life is a journey I’m grateful for, but I am hating how hard it is for the good people and easy for the bad.  CCL

I would think of it as a maize. Not with dead ends, but any choices and paths to different places.  JRC

Can you believe it has almost been a year since I started this series? I sure can’t! The seed for this series started a year ago after having conversation with my friend, Abby, during craft night and now I have shared 90 definitions! It will definitely be time for another “in-between definitions” post, like I did right after the 50 definitions mark. For that “in-between definitions” post I wrote about my struggles with depression and I have a good idea of what to do with the next one. I’ll be excited to share once my ideas get polished and down on paper.

Now on to today’s five definitions of life! As always, feel free to share if any connect with you in a certain way because I partially started this project so I wouldn’t feel alone in my struggle with discovering what life actually is. I really resonate with all of these. “I am hating how hard it is for the good people and easy for the bad” — so true! Seriously. I keep feeling that for individuals in my life who are continuously struggling more than they should. And with everything in the media, like news about prejudices against people of color or the LGBT community, it has me struggling with the “good vs. bad”. And speaking of struggling, the struggle for love is what we are fighting for because wouldn’t that bring acceptance for all? I would hope so. Chase & I recently spoke of an idea for his house next year to do “I believe” statements, which would basically be having people write what they believe. The more I think about about mine, I think it would be “I believe in love, a love for all”. Now to the “Jesus definition”. Guys, we found a church here we like! My faith has seriously been struggling for the past four years of finding the right fit for me and I think I might have found it in Stone Village. It might be appropriate to do a post on my faith background sometime soon because it’s kind of a long story and this post is already pretty long. But anyways, I feel like I am starting to know God again, which is completely wonderful. I appreciate those who read this and I really hope I made myself clear enough, and if I didn’t feel free to comment or send me an email!

I would also really appreciate it if anyone wants to share their own definition, to keep this project running, I will need more definitions. To share your definitions email me at thevintageurbaniteblog[at]gmail[dot]com.
