Welcome to July! Why has summer been going by so fast!? Each weekend seems to be packed with fun adventures & good times, making the weeks a little stressful at time between work, my summer class, & other odds & ends. This week especially is stressful because I leave for vacation & have a midterm this week. But anyways, this weekend was another adventure, which I will share about on this Traveling Toms Tuesday.
Chase & I drove to Cleveland on Sunday because we had tickets to see Delta Rae, our favorite band, at the House of Blues. Before we headed to the House of Blues, we visited my friend, Desiree, in Chagrin Falls. Chagrin Falls is northeast of Columbus by about a two-and-a-half hour drive. We met up with Desiree & Donald in the afternoon & explored the downtown of Chagrin Falls. We first got some lunch at Rick’s Cafe & then walked around the downtown with some soft-serve form the Popcorn Shop Factory. Chagrin Falls was such a cute town!
Here’s my friends & I at the falls
I took the Traveling Toms photo at several places, but I think I liked this one the most because you can see one part of the falls, but also the downtown
After saying good-bye to my friends, we headed for Downtown Cleveland to do some exploring before the concert. We found a parking garage for the car & wandered around the vicinity of the House of Blues. It started pouring a little after we begun walking around (this has been happening a lot lately!), so we took shelter in a bar/restaurant called The Green House Tavern. We had a very fancy soda & listened to people at the bar argue about the World Cup. We did more exploring once it stopped raining & then waited in line for the concert.
We couldn’t resist taking these pictures!
I took the Traveling Toms photo from the top of a hill where you could see the lake looking out into the distance or the city looking down
The concert was completely amazing! I think I will do another post just about the concert later on when I assemble the videos that I took. But for now, here is a sneak peek photo of three of the lead vocalists
It was a late night by the time the concert was over & we drove back home, but it was worth it. If you have not listened to Delta Rae, seriously, go listen to them right now! Here’s the link to my favorite song by them, “Morning Comes”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6FtsWX0dTg.
Looking ahead to later this week, I will have my second post for Small Town Nights & some exciting news about a new post series I would like to start!
