I had a very busy weekend that I will be sharing about this week on the blog! I decided to start the story-telling with the Traveling Toms photos I took during the road trip/mini vacation. Chase & I drove to Cincinnati, Ohio for a concert at the Riverbend on Friday. We saw Charlie Worsham, Leah Turner, Randy Houser, & Brad Paisley! Before the concert we did some exploring around Cincinnati. It was not the best day for walking around since it rained a majority of the afternoon, but I will get into more of that later.
We visited the Cincinnati Art Museum at the beginning of our trip & went to Eden Park which is along the way to the museum. The park is located in Mount Adams neighborhood of Cincinnati. I took the Traveling Toms photo in the gazebo right outside the pond before it rained.
It was one of my goals to find some of the “Pigs of Cincinnati” or “Cincinnati Porkitecture” while on the day trip. We only found one pig! The pig we found was at Saint Ursula Academy in East Walnut Hills, close to University of Cincinnati. I took one of my Travelings Toms here because Cincy is somewhat known for these artsy pigs.
The next day of the weekend road trip/mini vacation was the drive to Nashville, Tennessee! We arrived in the early afternoon & made a quick stop at the rest area/welcome center right outside the Kentucky-Tennessee border. I believe this was in Jellico, Tennessee.
During our first day in Nashville we visited two parks. We first visited Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park in the afternoon. Then we visited Centennial Park in the evening to see the replica of the Parthenon, explore the park, see Vanderbilt University, & have some Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream! The first photo is from Bicentennial Park along the mall where a globe fountain spins. The second photo is in front of the Parthenon in Centennial Park at dark.
On our second day in the Music City we explored some of East Nashville to go shopping & see at different side of the city. This was our favorite part of the trip. The Traveling Toms photo was taken at a mural of a popular intersection of the area. Shout out to the boyfriend for helping model for this photo 🙂
We also visited the Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum on the second day. The Traveling Toms photo is from the inside of the museum looking out into the Downtown.
Stay tuned to read more of my weekend adventure in Cincinnati, Ohio & Nashville, Tennessee 🙂
